New Calculator For Next Year’s S4 and S6

The governing bodies of the European schools have decided on some major modernizations of the Secondary Mathematics curriculum. In accordance with this decision, the pupils must be provided with the hardware required for the teaching of this curriculum. Consequently, each pupil entering classes S4 and S6 in the school year 2010/2011 must be equipped with a graphing calculator which meets all the characteristics required by the new programmes of mathematics having, in particular, a special examination mode which allows users to block any stored data without erasing it from the machine. It would seem that currently the only model of calculator available which meets these requirements and which has this examination function is the TI-NSPIRE CAS Touchpad with software version 2.0.

This calculator has also been listed on the book lists which have been published by ESF a few days ago. The model required has been defined only lately. If you click on the link on the right, you can buy this product through Amazon.de, which will result in a financial contribution to the Parents’ Association. Another possibility is through Böttcher Datentechnik.
